Vintage Report 2022

With the 2022 Vintage under our belt, as it is for most Rutherglen Wineries, the racking, transferring to barrel of the reds, and the filtering of the fortified wines is now underway.

A wetter than average growing season with cooler temperatures saw vintage delayed. With one eye on the weather forecast and the other on the fruit maturity resulted in a few last-minute changes to the program to ensure the best outcomes for the resultant wines.

Stephen Chambers and his cousin Michael Chambers (Lake Moodemere Estate) have made a great winemaking team this year and we are looking forward to the outcomes of their amazing work.

The vineyard is harvested by machine. The vineyard team of Acka (Wayne), Tets, Teigan and Claire did a brilliant job this year. From driving the harvester, the tractor & chaser bin and following the harvester down the row, every little bit helps.
