FARM

The Chambers family winery also sits among their 2000 acre sheep farm. During vintage the grape pressings are fed to the sheep providing extra sustenance during the dry periods. Sheep provide natural fertiliser among the vines as well as keeping down the undergrowth.

An example of dedication toward winemaking, Chambers Rosewood Vineyards & Winery, was established in 1858 by William Chambers and his son Philip. Today, the sixth generation of the Chambers family, Stephen, looks after the management of the estate along with his father, Bill (William 5th Generation) esteemed Wine Judge from 1962-2000. They are caretakers and custodians of their land and wine. The Chambers family acknowledge their history and heritage and strives to uphold the age-old winemaking processes, whilst protecting the rich, fertile soil which they are privileged to sit upon. They use a perfect blend of traditional and modern methods of wine production, respecting and balancing nature and biodiversity.

Stephen collects fruit for his wines from century-old vines, enriched with appropriate flavours and aromas, along with some newer young vines. He grows a wide range of varieties, Muscat and Muscadelle being at the forefront. Many other varieties include fruity Palomino, Roussanne, Riesling, Traminer, and Shiraz. The estate also uses the unique and rare Gouais grape, a parent of Chardonnay and Riesling, along with top-quality Tempranillo, Durif, Mondeuse, and Cinsault (Blue Imperial) to produce luscious wines. In the vineyards, they nurture precious vines as old as 120 years.

We use large tanks, oak casks & barrels (some casks dating back to the 1800s) to age and refine our premium wines. In the cellar, the wines are beautifully placed in a line-up.

On offering are sparkling, white, red and fortified wines, combined with high-end rosé and dessert wines. A welcoming family vineyard.
